Hi girls 😊👰🏼
How are you all doing?
We are back again today with some styling advice regarding veils! We get asked frequently when you are all standing up on that wee box in your dream dress, will I wear a veil? Will a veil match my dress? How long does it take for a veil to come in? What length will I go for? Well, I am here today to answer all these wee questions!
Personally I am a veil fanatic! I can’t get enough of them! I think it’s the only day you are allowed to wear a beautiful long veil to complement your wedding dress (not taking away from it at all) anyone who has been in with us will know how mad we are about veils, our cupboard is jammed with all different styles and lengths!
There are so many different styles out there now to choose from, the most common being the lace trimmed cathedral length veil. It all depends on the style of your own wedding gown obviously as when choosing a veil it should add to the overall look and not take away from your dress and the detail that’s in it. The catherdral length is designed to sit out over the train on the dress, therefore being longer than the actual dress (for the Wow factor)! This is my favourite look to be honest, especially for pictures too, photographers LOVE veils as there is so much fun with them blowing in the wind and trailing them down stairs etc!
Other lengths are; shoulder, elbow, fingertip, waltz, chapel, catherdral, and lastly royal length!
You can get completely plain veils, veils with a hint of sparkle on them, veils with lace appliqué around the edge, satin trim veils, diamanté trim ones, the list is endless!! It really just depend so on your dress and personal choice.
Generally we like to order the veil when you find your dress, it’s lovely for you to see the overall look you are buying (a lovely image in your head to go away with until your dress arrives in) if this isn’t the case we can look at veils when you are in on your first fit. They take anything up to 3/4months to come in depending on the supplier, sometimes shorter though!
So there you have it, who knew veils were so interesting?! If you are thinking of veil definitely go for it as I say every time in here “it’s the one day your allowed to wear a beautiful long veil” you will feel and look like a princess 👰🏼💕
Lots of love
